Childcare Cook

FULL TIME HOURS
Description of Position: Supervise production/preparation, food purchases, and service of meals in accordance with established United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and State guidelines and standards for nutrition, health, and sanitation. This employee will follow menus created by the contracted Nutritionist. The Cook purchases all food and necessary supplies. This position maintains records required by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management skills. The noise level may be moderate to loud in the center and kitchen. This position requires working in close quarters. Must enjoy being around children. TradeWinds serves children with all abilities. The Cook will prepare, setup and/or deliver lunch and a.m. snack to the children.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Must possess a current Food Handlers Card from Board of Health Department. ServSafe Certification or obtain such certification within 3 months.
Experience Required: Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility. Experience purchasing large amounts of food.
Position Reports to: Childcare Coordinator
